Sir Mick Davis
Sir Mick Davis is a distinguished business leader experienced in the running and operating of large global corporations.
Sir Mick was Chief Executive Officer of Xstrata plc and grew the company from US$500 million to US$60 billion in market value over a 10-year period. Xstrata was acquired by Glencore for $62bn as an international business employing more than 90,000 people in over 22 countries. Sir Mick had previously been Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of mining company Billiton plc, and led on the merger with BHP to form one of the world’s largest natural resources groups. Prior to joining Billiton, Mick was Executive Director of South African state-owned Eskom, a world-leading electricity utilities outfit.
Sir Mick has extensive experience in global capital markets and corporate transactions, having raised almost $40bn and successfully completed over $120bn of corporate deals.
Sir Mick is currently the Chief Executive of the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom.
